The Anti-Nowhere League - Pig Iron EP

One of my favorite bands of all time!

Along with Zodiac Mindwarp, Motorhead, Lords Of The New Church (are you sensing a trend here? Biker punk with attitude and leather trousers?!?) The League have been kicking my ass for well over 20 years now. The debut LP "We Are... The League" is a hands down punk rock classic. If you are not familiar with this record then you really should just shut your computer off and go die. Same with their "Live In Yugoslavia" platter. Essential listening for those of use who know better.

Sadly the band lost their way in the late 80's and put out the neo-Alarm sounding album "The Perfect Crime" before folding.

Then, lo and behold and thanks to those pansy assed doinks in Metallica, The League were foisted upon the masses thanks to Metallica covering "So What" in a blatant attempt at street cred.

In the mid 90's the League returned in fine form and flung this 10" EP out via Impact Records over there in Deutschland. Still pissed off, still fueled by piss n speed, but better production and better musicianship make the "Pig Iron" record one of the best of the bands' output. A studio version of "Let The Country Feed You", previously only available on the "Live In Yugoslavia" record, and 3 other tunes will make you remember all that teen angst and hatred towards the world.

The League are still kicking around, too. They've released 3 more studio albums, another live one in the form of "Return To Yugoslavia" and a metric shit ton of comps and "Best Of"s. They're on myspace, facebbook, have a bunch of videos on youtube and have their own official web site as well. I'm not gonna do ALL the work for ya, do your own research if you wanna find more. Until then, here's the original Pig Iron ep for your dining and dancing pleasure.

Long Live The League indeed!
